It was a series of celebration, celebration, celebrations! On Thu, 14/3, Liang Peng, Eileen, Clara & I met up to eat at Revenue House; the $0.99 sushi shop. I didn’t snap any pics as I was too tired then but we had a great time fellowshipping & of course feasting!

Then on Sunday, the CG & N291 celebrated for her. She was not expecting it cos she tot we were gonna do it for her on her actual day, 21/3. At least we managed to surprise her… hehehe, see the cake looks so nice. Leah chose it.. and she misplaced her hp behind the staircase while lighting the candle. Poor thing…

On her actual birthday, 21/3, we met at TCC. Amazingly, thre was a little miscommunication, and something mysteriously happened. We don’t know how it happened but it did. **Scratch head** Whatever it is, it was fun. No photo-taking at TCC cos of the expensive painting hang on the wall. Apparently, Leah leaned against a $6000 plus painting unknowingly. And thank God, it didn’t cause any damages. Above are some of the photos we managed to snap secretly. The rest are in Clara’s camera.

After TCC, we went to Settlers for some games. It was so fun.. we played like a balancing board. Each of us are supposed to remove a block from the balancing board withoug causing the board to fall. It was fun but we lost interest soon. Next we had gift giving game. It was hahaha… totally a lost game. Slow, boring, and confusing… what else did we played??? Can’t remember… Last we played Pits… fun fun!

Recently I am be drowning myself with Blueberry Muffin from Starbucks. You can’t imagine, I had my 4th serving in 2 weeks. It’s so sinning… I should stop the addiction & munch some healthy food. But still… Aww… the blueberry muffin is so delicious & yummy. Muffins are not as easy to get right as one might think. Too dry, too dense, too sugary are what I always tast outside. But Starbucks made them just right - light, fluffy, and full of blueberries.

Cost: $2.90 (inclusive of GST)

After looking at my cousin friendster, it brought me back to my younger days when all my cousins & relatives will gathered together to celebrate X’mas. My 3rd uncle will always dressed up like Santa Clus in his most creative way. My deepest impression is him putting on a furry shawl, using cotton wool to make his beard and eye brow. He is so funny looking, but he is always the theme of the party. We will play games, lucky draw, gift extra, and lotsa sabo… But as times past, all of us have grown up, we seldom see each other anymore, even during Chinese New Year. I have yet to seen some of my cousins for years. Many of them has married, and have children. My 3rd uncle remarried after his wife died. And is currently in M’sia helping his in-laws business.

I hope I will be able to meet up with my cousins this new year…

Photo0205 This small Indo restaurant is located in Lucky Plaza, #03-43. You can find many Indonesian family enjoying their dinner with fellow countrymen.

Their grilled chicken with rice is quite nice with their sweet sauce. Their chili is too spicy.

The place is relatively small but they have 2 shops, the other area for e over-flowing crowds. Business is quite good during weekends.

Here’s the link: http://www.ayambakarojolali.com

Comment: Their serving had shrunk over the months. I hope they can maintain their standard and not let it deteriorate.

Photo0181Seasoned with sesame oil, chili, coriander leaves, spring onion, lettuces, sliced ginger, favored with light soya sauce and a pinch of white pepper. This is the best raw fish salad I ever tasted. The fish is thinly sliced and fresh with sweetness.

Located at the hawker center beside OG, Peoples Park at Chinatown.

Photo0184 Name of the stall: Teak Kee, #01-1004

Photo0182 Try the chicken slice kway teow. The chili is too oily, just order the plain one and add in green chilies.

Rate: **** out of 5 Stars for the raw fish slices, *** out of 5 Stars for the Chicken Slice Kway Teow

Comment: It’s delicious! Indulge…

Photo0161Photo0160 I remembered when I was working in Diners Club, both Erica & I would always crave for the duck porridge along Beach Road. There is actually a very famous duck rice stall along that street but this humbly duck porridge stall which we frequent is in the same coffeeshop as the famous fish noodles.

It is just $2.50 for a plate of duck and smooth warm toukwa, and a big bowl of thick smooth porridge. The duck meats are not the ones full of bones and fats.

They are nicely sliced with a little bones which help to enhance the biting sensation. The skin well marinated with the gravy. The stall owner is always helpful to give you extra gravy for your porridge upon request. If you want to try its porridge, do come before 1pm, as it is sold out early part of lunch hour.

Beside porridge, you can opt for white rice or ‘black rice’( i think is yam rice). Seats are not easily available due to the crowd from the fish noodles.

Location: Beach Road, directly opposite Concourse

Comment: The coffeeshop attendees usually will ask you funny question, ie. if you want drink ample times, the same cup of coffee going to you again & again when you had told him it’s not your order. You may find him relatively irritating, but just ignore him. The place is very hot, especially during lunch hours.

Hi people… I had MIA for very long, but I have not stop eating yummie & delicious food… Here’s some of the updates… Keep drooling…

Help yourself to the cutlery and sauces.

Photo0171Photo0169

The smelly fermented shrimp sauce with a sourish taste and lingering stink mix with the chili sauce  complemented well with the beef slices and meatballs.

Photo0170

The main character is here,; Beef Kway Teow Soup. I personally prefer the soup one as it is not so cold as the dry ones. The starch of the gravy (for the dry version) is not too starchy but relatively too heavily favored.

Hock Lam St Beef Kway Teow - Prize winning beef kway teow, located at Purvis Street which is a street away from Seah Street (Beside Raffles Hotel). The famous kway teow had been featured in many magazines & newspaper articles.

Comment: The beef is not tender enough. Waiting time is short, so no worries about the long waiting time.

This year’s birthday had been really very blessed & loved. First, I received a mini TV from the gals, which replaced my spoilt one. They made it such a surprised that I didn’t even know that they had contacted Chris. After much arrangement, they arranged for Yao’s BF to carry it personally to my home. I felt so loved. Thanks gals… You gals are really my great pals! Love all of you…

National Day
Next was Chris. On National Day he brought me to Fullerton One to watch fireworks. We waited for an hour but saw nothing. Despites his tiredness, he sis not complain but waited patiently with me. Seeing me sad & upset, he brought me to Baker’s Inn & indulge in their famously sinful warm chocolate cake.

Bakersinne

Yummy…. it is indeed the best cake I had ever ate. So far, I can’t find any better than this. The chocolate is creamy, rich & smooth, but yet not dry or sticky. Everything about the chocolate cake is ‘heaven’ except for the ice cream. It was too little & melted too fast. But of course, it complimented really well with the cake. ***Drooling***

Say Yes…
On my birthday, Chris & I went to watch Ant Bully before surprising me to a dinner at Rasa Sentosa. I had no clue about where we were going till I sat in the Sentosa shuttle bus. Hehehe…

The ambience was excellent! Sea breeze, live music, romantic setting… I love it very much. After dinner, Chris proposed to me, and of course I said YES!!! Nah, no bended kneels… no flowers… no tears… As usual, we were in out most relaxed & happy mood… That’s what special about our reationship… simplicity & closeness…

After dinner was a short stroll on the beach… and headed our way back home. That night is the most ‘lomantic’ & unforgetable moment in my life…

Thanks Bao Bei for all…. especially the ring…
