I had recently joined the Make Up Ministry last Thursday. Thing didn’t turn out the way I expected. BUT I am loving it more than I anticipated.

Last Thursday, I reported for the 1st duty at Expo. Felt so lost in the first place, and wondered how I can help in any way. I am bad at sewing & I drag doing it. Everyone is so busy with the task and there wasn’t really anyone who can guide me along. I tagged along Kelly and helped her to tag the velcro, belt, etc… At first, we took nearly 1 hour to tag the velcro… Hahaha… and I did it quite badly… But pratice made perfect. Now I may not be good in sewing but at least faster & neater…Thanks to Shirley’s advices. I really love her… she’s so nice & friendly. She’s a fashion designer, and when I ask her certain things, she will patiently explain to me. Talking about Shirley, she really got a serving heart. She served even when she is still recovering from an operation. In fact, her eye sight was not very clear, but she did most of the stitching for Jesus robes. Wow…

Served from Thursday till Sunday, but I am less tired than I expected. Yes, I truly enjoyed it. Though I am only given minor duties, I am really very hounored to be able to be part of the team. I am so humbled by the people there, those with great great great talent & yet with a servant heart.

And most of all, I thank God for a great Ministry leader-Sis Sharon & Team leader-Yvonne. Yes, I am blessed… are u jealous??? :P

Dim Sum

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

I will never forget that every year during CNY, my parents would bring my bro & I to this fantastic Dim Sum Resturant along Chin Swee Road.

Very often, we will have to Q up for at least 20-30min as there was many people who frequent them. They are famously known among the older generation as the one of " 4 Da Tian Wang". Besides morning Dim Sum, they also serve very yummy dinner. However, it may be realtively costly. But given the standard of service & fod quality, you will greatly agreed that they deserve the prices.

Dim sum such as ‘xiao long bao’ will be sold out by 10am. And the restuarant will not make any once they are sold out. With a repertoire that includes everything from deep-fried and steamed buns, spring rolls, steamed dumplings, yummy meatballs, succulent spare ribs, and a host of other tasty treats, it is still served off pushcarts, the traditional way.

It is recommended to get there early if you want to get a good table, sit back and enjoy a leisurely meal in the quaint ambience.

Business Hours: 7.00am – 3.00pm (Dim Sum, Daily); Lunch 10.30am – 2.30pm, Dinner 6.00pm – 10.30pm (A la carte menu, Daily)

I do not blog about my feeling usually, but today has been an utterly lousy day for me. And I really don’t feel like talking much to anyone fearing that my words or temper may hurt the other party. Beside praying to God, I decided to pour out my frustration here today.

This week had been relatively disappointing. I am looking forward for Good Friday to come real quick!!! Y’day, I stepped into office, and rec’d a bad news that one of my staff is on leave for this week. Thinking that she would finish off her work before her study leave, I realise that things were left undone, and all these ’sai gang’ is left to me to clear. Yes, there may be attachment students, and colleagues around but so often I am always clearing all these unfinished work.. and I really detest it. I really start to wonder who is whose superior??? ***scratch head***

Most of my closer friends would be surprised to know that I’m being bullied by my staff here… I dunnoe if it pays to be kind to people. When I first stepped into CAAS, I told myself not to work the same way when I was in DCS or my previous employer. I don’t want people to fear me, but respect me. But so often showing friendliness seems to be a disadvantage. Students, staff, colleagues treats me like an idiot. My staff… both taken me for granted, very often asking me to find document, put back docyments for them. Its like helping them become my responsibilities. What shall I do? When I said no, they would either ignore my instruction or do a bad job for me. I might well do it myself… rite?

I come to a point that I dunnoe what to do…. In the end all responsibilities comes upon my shoulders, and I am doing everybody’s job. I am not suppose to be doing that… a leader delegate job scope, not doing himself… I am very very lousy, and I felt lousy… I wish today will end fast…

I desire respect!!! Why can’t they respect me?

D&D

Photo0127I just came back an hour ago after my company’s annual D&D… The theme was "A Night of Thousand Stars"… meaning you gota dress up glam glam…like a celebrity star…

So after weeks of thoughts, I decided to dress myself into an Indian Sari, since I can get it from Shevy w/o much trouble.

As usual, I had BS @ Suntec in the noon time. Today, I shared with my classmate alot about myself & Chris. We had a great time sharing about each other’s CG, work, relationship, etc. Though we been in the same BS class for more than 10 lessons, seems like we din hv such a good talk before… After BS today, I met Faith up and made our way down to Little India. I had to look for the expert to help me with the sari… Thank God the lady boss was very kind… she only charge me $10… But come to think of it hor… $10 to help u wear sari is good money hor… mybe i shld learn too… den go Changi Airport open one shop, help those ang moo & tie sari…LOL

It only took her like 10min lor… den $10 into her pocket. Wanted to do a hana on my hands but was thinking t was abit too costly… $5/hand… NVM….

After tat, we made our way down to PS for lunch… as usual, I have my favourite treat of half boiled eggs & kaya toast… Yummy!!! I think Wang Jiao’s taste better than Ah Kun leh… Esp the PS one… is better than the transit one…

After lunch, Faith gotta go off & meet her buddy, Li Fang… so I roamed around alone. I walkd from PS all the way to Bugis & detoured to City Hall. Thankfully, dearie Glor came & meet me to accompany for my make over at Bodyshop. Thank God fo grace, apparently, the CitiLink Branch didn’t confirmed my appointment at the Raffles City Branch. Due to the weekends, they were not taking in walk in for make over…But really realli Thank God… becos of the miscummuncation, the friendly make up artist was willing to do so for me… Her name is Janet!!! She’s very nice & kind lor… actually Jen was thinking of doing her amke up there too, but the other Bodyshop staff said can’t, so poor Janet gotta reject my request… and she was realli very kind, telling us where to go… and even checked out for us if other branches can do it… PTL for her great help. Though in the end we couldn’t find any Bodyshop which can do the make up. But I’m really glad that I’ve seem great service in my favourite shop.

In then end, Jen did her make up at MAC. However the girls there were not so friendly. And we gotta pay more than Bodyshop… anyway… as long as we get a nice make up can liao…

At D&D, I was so excited taking photos with collagues & my boss. Yes, my boss- Mrs Tang… (will upload them after I scan them, cos its in hardcopies form) The food at Suntec was really very very lousy. So much MSG, and the food tasted weird… really am shocked… oh please can’t imagine the company every year oso hv D&D there… maybe next year, I shall eat at the Halal table… The programs were very fun & enjoyable. Overall, I enjoyed myself ery well…

Alrite, I’m so glad I blog these down… Hope u feel my excitement too…
